Prelude Australia (formerly known as Hunter Prelude Early Intervention Centre) is a Hunter Region charity that provides early childhood therapy and capacity-building supports for children from birth to 12 years with disability or developmental delay. They've been serving Hunter families for over 40 years.
Their work helps children build communication, social, and learning skills during the years that matter most. The families they support often come to Newcastle NDIS providers like Safe Hands a few years later as their children grow into school-age and adolescent supports.
Prelude Australia is a registered charity endorsed by the Australian Tax Office as a deductible gift recipient (DGR1), so donations over $2 are tax-deductible. They operate from three Hunter locations: Kurri Kurri (head office at 131 Northcote Street), Singleton, and Maitland.
Early intervention changes lives. Families who get the right support during their child's earliest years tend to face fewer barriers later. That matters to us because we see what happens further down the line.
Safe Hands is a small Newcastle NDIS team. We can't fund Prelude Australia ourselves, but we can use our website, our blog, and our community presence to point Hunter Region families towards their work. That is what this page is for.
Prelude Australia is a DGR1 registered charity. Donations go to them directly. Safe Hands does not handle the money, issue receipts, or collect any donor information. You give to them, they thank you, and your receipt comes from their team.
This is completely optional. Our service to you as an NDIS participant or family member does not change in any way whether you donate or not. We are simply making it easy to find them.
Both links open the Prelude Australia website in a new tab. They do not have a dedicated online donation portal yet, so donations are arranged directly via their team on (02) 4937 4549 or [email protected].
