Local & Community-Based
We Come to You
Safe Hands Disability doesn't operate from a single fixed clinic. We deliver supports where they make sense — at your home, in your local community, at work, at school, or at a venue that suits your needs.
Our team lives and works across the Hunter Region. We know the streets, the community services, the parks, and the venues. That local knowledge means better connections and more practical support for every participant.
Not sure if we service your area? Call us on (02) 4900 0000 or check the area guide below. If you're on the edge of our zone, we'll still do our best to connect you with someone who can help.

Frequently Asked Questions
Call us on (02) 4900 0000 or submit a referral form — even if you're unsure. We'll confirm coverage immediately. If we can't service your exact location, we'll connect you with a trusted local provider who can help. We never leave anyone without a referral.
For areas outside our main Newcastle/Lake Macquarie base, a travel allowance may apply in line with the NDIS Price Guide. This is clearly outlined in your service agreement before any supports begin. In some outer areas, we may recommend telehealth options for allied health to reduce travel costs from your plan budget.
Yes — telehealth is available to participants anywhere in NSW. We provide support coordination, OT, psychology, and speech pathology via secure video call. Telehealth is NDIS-funded and billed at the same rates as in-person supports (except travel costs don't apply). All you need is a device with a camera and a stable internet connection.
Yes — direct supports (daily living, community participation, transport) are available 7 days a week including public holidays, subject to worker availability. Weekend and public holiday shifts are billed at the NDIS Price Guide weekend/PH rates, which are higher than weekday rates. Our coordination office is not staffed on weekends, but an on-call line is available for urgent issues.
If you're moving within our service area, let us know as soon as possible so we can update your support schedule and reassign workers if needed. If you're moving outside our service area, we'll help you transition to a provider who covers your new location and provide a warm handover to ensure continuity of care. Please give us at least 2 weeks notice where possible.
